Jason Mraz

If you don’t have a dream, you will never have a dream come true. Such, we are told, is the creed of singer/songwriter Jason Mraz. Jason arrived at fame and fortune by way of Mechanicsville, Virginia and NY City where he studied musical theater at The American Music and Dramatic Academy for a short time. He learned to play guitar so he could perform his own songs while pan handling on the streets of New York. Jason lost his chance to be Broadway chorus boy and instead became an international star.

Mraz music is influenced by reggae, pop, rock, folk, jazz and hip hop in general but he is not limited by anything. His debut album “Waiting for my Rocket to Come” was released in 2002 to mild success, but with his second album, “Mr. A-Z, he achieved commercial success. The album peaked at No. 5 on the billboard Hot 200 and sold over 100,000 copies in the U.S. “We Sing, We Dance we Steal Things,” his third album, was released in 2008 and was a commercial success worldwide. The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard hot 200 and peaked in the top 10 of several international charts. This international surge became a flood with the release of the lead single from the album called “I’m Yours.” The tune peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified as triple-platinum for sales of over 3 million copies in the U.S. The song topped the charts in two nations and peaked in the top 10 on multiple international charts. Mraz was on top to stay.
